School Improvement Plan (SIP)
The NHS School Improvement Plan is a multi-year strategic document that charts course for ongoing enhancement of school programs and offerings. Developed by the principal in collaboration with the School Council, the Principal's Cabinet, and other school community groups, the plan addresses the most pressing instructional, social-emotional, and operational issues facing NHS. The School Council reviews and revises the document annually, and a new plan is approved by the Needham School Committee every two or three years.

The NEASC in the accrediting organization for Needham High School. Every ten years, NHS hosts an evaluation visit from the NEASC. The last evaluation visit to NHS was in the fall of 2009. The next is slated for the fall of 2019. In preparation for each visit, the NHS faculty and staff undergo a 12-18 month self study upon which the evaluation team bases their visit and final report. Between decennial evaluation visits, NHS must report provide the NEASC's Commission on Public Schools with intermittent reports on the successes of and challenges facing the school community. Links to these reports, along with the self study and evaluation reports, are provided below.
