Technology

Perhaps some of the most significant roles that were played in World War II were those relating to technology. For this website, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak to a number of people who occupied a variety of jobs, each one falling into this category. Here, you can read firsthand accounts from pilots, marines, navy radar specialists and navigators, artillery officers, flight engineers, and more. You can read about pilots and marines who were present at significant points in the war such as Iwo Jima and Okinawa, and see how radar was used to track German U-boats. Although each topic is linked back to technology, the diversity that exists within each interview makes this section of the site especially fascinating to explore.
